How to Cancel Subscriptions You No Longer Use
Published June 1, 2026
Unused subscriptions quietly drain money because auto-renewal is the default. A structured review helps you cancel what you forgot you still pay for.
Spot services you have not opened recently
Check app usage on your phone and browser extensions you installed months ago. If you have not logged in for thirty days, the subscription is a cancellation candidate.
Renulo lets you tag subscriptions by last-used date or personal notes. That filter surfaces idle services faster than scanning bank statements alone.
Cancel before the renewal window
Many annual plans renew without a reminder email. Note each renewal date and cancel at least a week early in case the provider needs processing time.
Use Renulo renewal alerts to trigger action before charges hit. For trials, set a reminder on day one of the trial, not the last day.
Confirm cancellation and watch the next statement
After canceling, save the confirmation email or screenshot the account page showing an end date. Some services make re-subscribing easy but hide the canceled status.
Check your next bank statement to verify the charge stopped. If it persists, contact support with your cancellation proof. Update Renulo to mark the service as ended.
